About Us
We love food. Despite all of our different backgrounds, we were each raised in households that fueled in us an appreciation for cooking and eating. When most families were eating out, we were lending a hand in the kitchen and cleaning up the dishes afterward. When we eventually grew up and got our own kitchens, the love still kept sizzling. Now we're developing our own recipes and cooking to our hearts' content. What you'll find here is the story of friendship and food, shared between three (now four) kitchens.
About Alina:
Being born and raised in Ukraine, I grew up on a small farm owned by my grandparents. We were always self sustained, growing everything from walnuts, to strawberries, to making our own bacon! So everything I grew up eating was seasonal and organic - something that my grandparents take pride in to this day. It was not until after I moved to America at the age of 10, that “fastfood”, “chips”, and “takeout”, became part of my knowledge. And as you probably have guessed, all other foods were new to me too! Since then I have expanded my palate, making Japanese, Mexican, and spicy foods amongst my favorites! My specialities are breakfast dishes and soups! You will also find me cooking up some traditional Ukrainian/ Russian dishes such as borsch, kompot, venegret, olivie, and others! I love cooking with fish, mushrooms, potatoes, eggs, and various greens.
About Amy:
The German side of this trio of delicious snacks and meals has arrived! Being raised on a variety of from scratch meals as well as meals out of frozen entree bags, my cooking skills and tastes vary tremendously. As I continue to age and become more involved in body building, cooking health consciously has become a must. However, don't be fooled. I enjoy a delicious Shiraz or Craft Beer occasionally and am known to dive into German cooking with as much butter, if not more, as diabetes-ridden Paula Dean herself!Come with me on this journey, as my cooking skills and tastes evolve. As you'll see I am a mix of cook and baker, not afraid to throw anything in a pan and play with flavors. But be forewarned, I have a love for barbecue that grows more intense with the rising heat.
About Ciara
Jersey attitude, Zen patience and French roots: these are the ingredients for my culinary style. I relocated from NJ to Portland OR in 2010. Being brand new, I found myself baking at home and taking it out to the local bars. Needless to say, I made friends fast! Those friends put in requests and one thing led to another which ended up being Sprinkles and Spice, my custom dessert and pastry company. I specialize in cheesecakes and truffles but I love making quiches too, even for my own family. I have a full time job that I love but nothing makes me feel more fulfilled than giving my friends plenty of good food. I am also a full time puppy mom to Gotti (French Bulldog) and Gambino (English Bulldog). My guilty pleasures are (and forever will be) champagne, cheese and chocolate.About Marine:
Hailing from a French background but growing up in America, I was brought up eating a variety of dishes from both cultures. Champagne and stinky cheeses light a fire in my belly, along with french fries and a good ol' pork roll egg & cheese. A few of my favorite things are Thai curry, potatoes in any form, European yogurts, eggs over-easy, anything grilled... and of course I'm a sucker for hard-crusted warm loaves of bread.I'm a baker at heart, with a strong weakness for chocolate chip cookies. You can usually find homemade cookie dough in my fridge- ready to bake whenever the mood strikes (as it often does). My dream is to open up my own bakery one day - with a focus on quality, fresh, local ingredients and recipes straight from the heart. I just want to share the love and joy from my kitchen, to yours.
